There is hardly any other beverage other than coffee, especially specialty or the Third Wave coffee, that is so frequently associated with harmony, coziness and above all, craft – the craft involved behind each and every cup of coffee.
Thow Kwang Pottery Jungle
At Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee, we know how important it is to unfold the characteristics, profile and the message behind every cup of coffee we serve. This is why, with greatest dedication, we chose to hand-pick our range of coffee cups. Through the journey of sourcing the cups, one of the professional craftsmanship that resonated with us was Thow Kwang Pottery Jungle engagement with arts and culture in our modern society. We strongly admire their history and commitment to actively create awareness of pottery and the art of wood-firing. Thow Kwang’s dragon kiln is one of the oldest surviving brick-built kilns in Singapore for wood-firing.
Hence, we decided to create the first range of handmade artisan coffee cups with them. Each and every one of the cups is carefully crafted and handmade with professional craftsmanship. Our cups were double-fired, first with bisque firing followed by glaze firing in the electrical klin, hence vary in colours and sizes, which reflects how each cup of coffee is similar yet different in one way or another.
